Financial Accountant
SA, Stellenbosch
apply

Inrange is a technology company, part of the Alphawave Group, transforming the driving range experience. We design and build our own radar hardware, develop the software that brings it to life, and manage the full operation from a single integrated platform, across 17 countries and growing. From Stellenbosch, we serve driving ranges from the USA to Australia, and we are only getting started.

We are looking for a Financial Accountant who brings strong technical foundations and the commercial curiosity to use them. This is not just a back-office role. You will work directly with the finance team and business leaders, contribute to cash flow and working capital decisions, and translate month-end outputs into insight that actually drives how we run the business.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability Areas

  • Own the full month-end close process across both entities (SA + UK), including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and trial balance
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and reconcile VAT to the general ledger
  • Monitor creditor ageing and own payment forecasting as input to commercial cash flow decisions
  • Identify payment optimisation opportunities, including supplier term renegotiation and early-payment discounts
  • Review supplier invoice capture, coding, VAT treatment and reconciliations completed by the outsourced provider
  • Prepare audit files, maintain audit-ready working papers and manage the external audit engagement
  • Strengthen the internal control framework and document control processes
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, validate cost allocations per department, and manage statutory payroll submissions
  • Translate month-end outputs into actionable commentary for commercial and operational decision-making

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • SAIPA, CIMA, CA(SA) or equivalent accounting qualification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years post-article experience
  • Full month-end ownership across multiple entities (essential)
  • VAT preparation and submission (essential)
  • Audit file preparation (essential)
  • Cloud accounting experience, Xero preferred (essential)
  • Multi-entity and currency accounting experience (advantageous)
  • Accounts payable and creditor management exposure (advantageous)

Knowledge and Skills Required

You will need solid technical grounding across financial reporting and IFRS, VAT legislation, general ledger management, and internal controls. Xero experience is preferred, and intermediate to advanced audit process knowledge is expected.

Beyond the technical requirements, we are looking for someone who is analytically strong, detail-oriented, and genuinely accountable for the quality of their work. You should be structured under pressure, particularly across month-end cycles, and comfortable working across two entities in different jurisdictions.

Most importantly, we want someone commercially curious. Someone who does not just close the books but asks what the numbers mean, surfaces trends, and contributes to conversations that go beyond compliance. If that description appeals to you, this role has real room to grow.

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
  • Starting date: immediate / by arrangement
  • Full time employment
